For this year’s International Women’s Day, the ladies at Freedom Sandringham were invited to celebrate a Champagne High Tea with their friends, daughters and granddaughters.
Tables were set with vintage china cups and saucers, pretty peony table displays, and a small gift and chocolates for each guest. The ladies were treated to pink bubbles followed by delicious high tea treats.
While the ladies sipped their pink champagne, the Community Manager took guests through the incredible journey that women have made to get to where they are today.
Guests were even invited to share inspirational personal stories. Leora Ross, resident at Freedom Sandringham, shared stories about her life as a nurse, a mother, a woman living with multiple sclerosis and her migration to Australia. Yolanta Cadman, a daughter of one of the residents, also shared her experience as a flying instructor, a job usually reserved for men.
It was an wonderful, inspiring afternoon with much fun and laughter. The ladies all dressed for the occasion and there was even lucky prize bottles of wine.
