Pen pals at Freedom Banora Point
It’s great to see our residents staying socially connected!
Denis, 84-year-old resident at Freedom Banora Point, has struck up a great friendship with his new pen pal, six-year-old Tommy.
Originally organised by the Community Manager, the pair began writing to each other over the school holidays, bonding over rugby league and their favourite team, the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs. Denis has even shared stories about his life and growing up in Byron Bay.
“We have written a couple of letters; he has a lot of go in him.”
The pair intend to keep writing to each other and hopefully meet in the not-too-distant future.
